Due to a sudden development in overheating, (running temps 210-220 at highway speeds) Honda mechanic thinks that a blown head gasket may be at fault. What are the general symptoms associated with this problem?? Bike runs great in all gears, no smoke out the exhaust. This on a 5th gen with 33K. Could a bad thermostat be a possible culprit?

you would have water in your oil (milky color) or oil in your water (gulf of mexico color) or both. Unlikely that this is the case, more than likely a bad t-stat, air in the system or a not fully screwed down radiator filler cap.

usually it's the rad cap, press it down and attempt (without mongo gorilla strength) another 1/4 turn. usually folks intstall them, feel resistance and dont realize it's like a pill bottle (press down and turn).
