    I have a 1998 VFR.

So, I ordered myself a Power Commander III USB from Ebay (free shipping, it was a good price) from a store called Knee4Speed.

They shipped fast, but they shipped me a PCIII for a 2002-2005 VTEC.

When I emailed them to tell them they sent the wrong one, the response I got was "Sorry for the confusion- many PCIII models work with many different bikes. You have the right model."

Alright, looking at photos and looking at my bike, I see that the hookups for the PCIII are pretty wide on the 98-00 (like 2.5-3 inches wide ish) and the 02-05 VTEC uses skinnier ones (1.5 inches... ish).

I don't want to open the package so they can tell me they have to charge me because I opened it, but I want the right part.

Do I have the wrong part for real, like I think I do? I want to call these guys out on it after that email response.

    Thanks.

I highly doubt it due to the addition of VTEC for the 6th gens. I'd make them send the right one or give the money back.

FYI PCIII USB for 6th gen part number is 111-411. Part number for the 5th gen is 106-411. I know that DynoJet uses the same PCIII on many different models and my guess is that if they were the same or it would work, they wouldn't have a seperate part number listed thus creating addition stock for them and costing them more money.

the model it self may work on your bike, but there is no way that you could use the mapping for the 02-05.

Well, I called Dynojet and talked to support and they say that it WILL work... Guess I'll be opening it up to try it out later. Of course, it's going to rain all week in New England... but I can at least get it hooked up. Hopefully.

Anyone know any good maps for a '98 with K&N, coated headers and a Two Brothers slip-on?

i checked vfrdiscussion and all they had were vtec maps...
im sure someone on here has one for the 98.
i think the problem is that remapping isnt needed as bad on the 98's and 99's.
but the best map is one that is done custom just for your bike, so you might want to start saving up and look for a dyno in your area...
