Hi, just registered with vfr world, I have owned my vfr 750 fg (1986) for ten years now. It is probably an import as the front indicators act as day-time running lights (on all the time). It seems to me that the power is restricted as it 'fluffs out' at about 8500rpm. Could this be the main jet size, if so how do I Identify the jet size and what is the correct size?. many thanks kelvin w.

Have you taken your carbs off? You could also check the condition of your spark plugs to determine how its running. Rich will be black and sooty and lean will be whitish to a silver color.

Always helps to know the mileage.......??

What have you checked so far ?? In proppa nick, your bike should have no problem touching the redline.

Could be clogged carb jets, plugged mainjet holder tubes. dirty fuel filter, one or more bad vaccum slide diaphrams, one cylinder not working, petrol tank vent blocked etc., etc.

Like Squirrel said I doubt this would only be a main jet problem. Run down the supply chain of fuel/spark from the top and report back.
