the bike is beautiful and completely original, i am thinking about a slip on(less weight better sound) or a full system( less weight, better sound, better power)

any oipinions on slips, systems, websites for images, i would like a high right exhasut slip on or a level high full system exhaust with power comander and everything but realistically i am looking at a slip on for at least the foresable future.

    Thanks

I second the nomination for Staintune. I currently have a Scorpion on my bike & every time I hear a VFR with a Staintune, I get jealous. Hopefully, I will rectify this problem in the next week or so.

You can forget about a full system. Only TBR & Erion ever made them & both have long since discontinued them.

    Pearl Conifer Green...Love it!!

Just bought the bike, i would love to buy a slip on with a high mount but Hindle is almost $800 and apparently Staintune is difficult to get parts for, i am going to stay factory until my insurance dips down as well

That is a really sweet looking bike in green. Was that not sold here in the States? I don't think I have ever seen that on the road. That being said, how about these pipes? You can get them for around 350 dollars

I don't know why you would be worried about parts for a Staintune. They have no parts to replace. The only 2 "parts" on them are the clamp at the collector & the bolt that holds the can to the passenger peg.

From the Staintune site: "There is never a need to internally service or repack a stainless steel muffler because the packing material is a spun stainless steel wool. It will not disintegrate or blow out, ever. There are no rivets and there is no way to open the muffler up to get to the internals."

    http://www.staintune.com.au/product_care.htm

The only two pipes I know of that never need repacking (because they use steel wool for packing) are Staintune & Scorpion. I'm sure there are others but these are the two I definitely know of.

    All these brands require repacking:
    TBR
    Micron
    D&D
    Akropovic
    Erion
    BOS
    etc

    +1 Micron high mount

Then again I'm pretty biased because mine is so damn sexy...

And if weight savings is a goal, go carbon fiber or titanium. Stainless is heavy and too damn raspy sounding.
Unless of course you want to buy my stainless Vance and Hines that the Micron replaced... Then it's the most amazing, penetrating (painful) sounding exhause made for the VFR!

Staintune, all the way. Never heard a better exhaust note from a VFR.

Pretty much any bike shop can order them. They're carried by Parts Unlimited.
