Question about VF1000F/VF1000R

    My wiring diagram shows a clutch switch in the left handlebar.

    But in all the videos on the internet of people starting up their bikes I haver never seen any one pull in the clutch to have to start the bike. They just turn the key and push the start button.

    Do you have to pull in the clutch to start the engine?


    Working on the wiring on an old bike.

    They must have had it in neutral in those vids. The VF's have a standard style 2-prong clutch switch, only needed when the bike is in gear.

    Now i know why the neutral switch is in that circuit.
