Hello - first post, please be nice.

I have a 96 and got an FH010BA R/R to do an upgrade but have a quick question. Original R/R has been replaced and wires have been cut and spliced. From the R/R there is a red wire going to the Starter Relay - does the output of the new R/R have to include this path to the Starter Relay?

Or can I just run the + and - output from the new R/R to + and - terminals of the battery?

    Thanks!

I can see what you're talking about on my wiring schematic but I can't be sure exactly how the relay is switching the R/R lead. I can theorize that the relay probably disconnects the R/R to prevent a high load of current draw from being pulled thru it during cranking. Without inspection of my own machine, that's about all I can say.

Thanks for the reply - anybody else out there know for sure if I can omit this path?

From all the research I have done I believe I can, but just wanted to get some other opinions before snipping wires.

I cant see why you cant run them as you planned, not looking at a wiring diagram but if memory serves me it is just another point of failure that can be eliminated.
