regrading front fork

    anyone know what kind of spring is stock gen 5 using ?
    i am thinking of upgrading my front fork spring to aftermarket however i am not sure to choose linear or progressive

    anyone can give me some opinion ? FYI most of my country's road are quite bumpy

    I think it has more to do with your weight. How fat are you? My fat ass took some much heavier springs to get thing in order.

    I didn't realize age had an effect on choosing springs.

    Back when I was still riding, I put 1.0's in my 6th gen. I'm 205lbs and I think I recall the rate calculator on the Racetech website calling for .986 for street or 1.1 for track. Therefore, 1.0 seemed perfect for the spirited canyon carver rider who I once was. As far as progressive or linear...:noidea:

    Looks like the Gen 5 stock fork springs are .74 's (Gen 6= .71 ?),

    Racetech wanted me to go .90 or higher; I upgraded to .85 IIRC (along with much lighter oil, 7.5 weight) and liked the firmer but more supple ride. It was a nice improvement but not too firm; I have a sportier bike for that kind of riding.

    hmm i always do pillion, so should i calculate the weight of pillion and all the boxes ? or just myself ?
