it doesn't look too hard ... remove shield and headlight....the gauge cluster is in 3 pieces so it looks like you will be able to get at it and clean it up...here's a parts view that might help.. OEM Parts

Unfortunately, the whole front end bodywork has to come off to remove the headlight. I had to do that to do my HID converion. The first time is pretty scary, as there are hidden clips and catches everywhere. Study the service manual carefully and go slow and methodical. Make sure you have released every clip before pulling on each of the panels. Now that I have done it once, I could probably pull the front fairing set in 30mins.

Did you somehow change the reflector? Or did you just put an HID bulb in the stock housings? I didn't take shit apart to do my HIDs.

No this was a straight HID conversion. Even with the headlight loose, I managed to break an H7 HID bulb, trying to set just the right offset to tilt the bulb down just enough to clear the reflector tip (see photo). I can't imagine doing it with the headlight assembly on the bike. Besides, I was doing a few other mods (like the red LED strips), so the fairing set had to come off anyway. No biggie.

Anyhow, the conversion results are good but not great. I might be used to dual headlights like on C14 and SV. The single bulb just doesn't seem to put out enough light. I just ordered a set of Morimoto H1 projector retrofit kit. I am gonna see about installing it in place of the high beam.
