    Hey Guys,

This is to piggyback on my last thread about 3rd Gen Left exit exhausts...
Now that I have the RC30 Headers, I've narrowed down my selections of Pipes

I did want to go Dual Pipe- High Mount...but its just not in my budget right now to pay close to $1000 for pipes + Fabing the connectors.

So, for now I;m looking at REMUS. Either Genesis or the Viper dual port in CF
Has anyone had experience with the VIPER or heard one in person/sound clip?

I'm gonna go Left exit High mount in CF with the RC30 headers for now.
Maybe this winter I 'll fab up a Y-pipe to go Dual CF highmounts

    Heres some pics...Comments???????
    Thanks
    Steve

    Absolutely awesome! Love the color!

I am new to the VFR world, but have a set of Titanium Remus on my new bike, and they sound great! Came with the bike, and I'm sure glad they are on it!

    Remus Viper

Congrats, you stumbled on my secret. But, it works for the right side better, bolts are on the left.

The Remus looks great, sounds even better. Mine is on the right side low so I can clear my hard bags. Making the connector was dirt simple. Go to a muffler shop and show him the stock flare and get him to first:

Duplicate the factory bend for lining up with the muffler from the collector,

Flare it to match the VFR exhaust flange.

All out of 3" pipe. Note: Viper slip-on is 3" ID.

Slip your present exhaust clamp over, slip/push pipe into muffler. Mount on bike in appropriate place, so mounting bolts on muffler are under/near hanger. Tighten.

Remove from collector. Make small hanger from AL from bolts to hanger on peg.

    Remount. Start. Notice nice rumble.

BTW, Remus is factory guaranteed forver.

I do have an extra bolt on can in the garage with a set of 93 GSXR headers with bolt on flange. Need one, they are rare as hens teeth. NIB.

    PM me for a deal/pics.

BTW, RC30 high mounts are single cans, and I have seen them as dual exhaust cans, look great.

And where are the above pics from, in case I want a spare?

Thanks for the great write-up Larry!!!
This gives me a little more insight for doing it myself...as I had planned.

I will be going to the exhaust shop once I get the RC30 Headers on my 93 VFR
If you look close the Genesis can appears to be left exit!!!
BUT I would rather have the dual tip Viper...just looks more unique I think.

These cans above are off Ebay. Though they are listed as CBR900 cans.
I believe the are all the same at 54mm??? correct me if I'm wrong.

The dual can thing is just too expensive to undertake at the present moment.
    2 cans = 400-500$ each
+ 2 fabbed midpipes with Y joint connection from exhaust shop $100-200
    + RC30 headers $300
probably will cost me 1200-1500$ all said and done!

Just had a thought...what about dual shotgun cans on the same side?
Like the Triumph Speed triple or the Ducati?

Thanks Again for the heads up-
    \Steve

    Steve,

OK, you and I think alike. My PRESENT system (yes, I have 2, one for touring, one for sport) is from an Aprilia RSVR. It is a shotgun Remus cans in AL on the right. A little long, but workable. Kinda 1990 WSBK like. See my pics at VFRD, I'm vfrrider.

The easy wasy to do shotgun is get a system from either Devil or TBR. They both make one so all you have to do is get the connector pipe made.

You may have a little rough time finding one that will work easy with the RC30 left exit, but anything is possible. I prefer the right exit for one good reason, makes the bike as narrow as possible, which I think was the original idea for the SSS.

    Good luck

    Larry
