So I’m going to buy Jack’s SH847 kit and will need his adapter. But he has two types. I think a four hole and a two hole. Has anyone used one his adapters on a 5th Gen?

    Thanks.

Here's the OEM mount area on the 5th gen ....

And here's a FH020AA mounted in that spot....

So the 847 is physically larger, no mount bracket is going to change that....
To show the difference, check the pics of the 6th gen mount brackets I have...
The one on the left is for the FH020aa and on the right is 847 to show the larger...

Seems like I need to get busy and develop an 847 mount for 5th gen...

Thank you for the pics. Jack said the 847 is what I should get. So it seems I should get the four hole for the flexibility. My bike has not been delivered yet so I have some time to ponder. I could also buy both? They’re only $21 I think. I can always sell one at some point.

    Thanks again.

By the way, there’s a big difference in size. I hope it fits without too much trouble.

Geez, get the bike in house and see what's on it. ???

Gary's mounts are generic....it may work or it may not...

Or....let me borrow the 847, and then I can develop the mount for it....... you get a free mount, I get a design....
( 2 cent resume on me...25 years automotive engineering)

For me, can't really justify buying a new 847, the FH020aa works fine, chances are, its not going to die for a lot of years.....

Um... I'm trying to hint..if you are not mechanically inclined...it will be a PIA.

Or, just get the FH020aa, and it's a easy fit. No mount plates needed......-also bullet proof too....
-- of course Gary will say to get the 847....he makes more bucks.....

I will take your advice and get the one that fits. The bike just got a new RR. But, not sure what kind. I want to upgrade anyway. I’m fairly well versed with a wrench having worked on my race car for years and some old iron (50 Buick and a 47 Caddy).

No. I just bolted it to the frame with the one hole that lined up.
