I will need new tires soon so it will be a good time to powdercoat my wheels. I haven't seen anyone with red wheels yet and am thinking it might look good. I like gold a lot but I seem to b the only one ive shown them to that likes it. I might end up doing white but it is just so difficult to keep clean.

Dark red, like that on the RWB, would look awesome. At least in my mind it looks cool. I haven't seen another one like that. I've been thinking about having my wheels painted white on my red 5th gen. Kind of like the 3rd gen that was red with white wheels.

I just put pearl white powder coat on mine. Can't imagine any better color combination
Regardless of the color, cleaning will always be an issue unless they are dark charcoal (dirt color).

I like white too, but I'm with you; everyone does white. I was thinking Blue to match the blue in the RWB, but the red isn't a bad idea either...

Yea...I can't get a good visual on what red will look like. The white looks great but I want to be original. I've seen one person do blue and one do gold, no red yet. Maybe I can be the first...If I hate it, I won't have to look at it while I'm riding.

Then consider white on the front and blue on the rear. The reason that white looks so good is that it flows with the big white stripe on the body. Maybe a blue rear will look good with the blue rear body color.

PJ,Red rims usually look better on bikes that have lots of Red in the fairing. I've seen two Red VFR's (a 3rd gen. and a 5th gen.) that had matching Red rims and they both looked gorgeous. Sorry I don't have a pic of a VFR to show you, best I can do is my Ducati. On the RWB's,Red is more of an accent color. I agree with the others, with the RWB's the obvious choice is White rims. Yeah, they ARE a real bitch to keep clean (I had an '86 RWB for 13 years, trust me) but they just plain look cool. If you're deadset on painting your rims up in color, the factory Pearl Blue would probably be the better choice as Echo3Niner suggested. Gotta confess that I've always kinda wanted to see that myself.

I recently posted this pic in another thread. Imho White rims on a RWB,and a recovered White seat like this guy did, look positively stunning. It's a simple and effective use of color, and the overall look is one of sophisticated elegance. I agree with TOECUTTER,I think it's just the way the RWB's were meant to be.

I would not do white ever again. It was a severe PITA to keep it clean.

Here is a link of a long discussion at VFRD about this, with some photoshopped images as well: 2007 Rwb (white Wheels) - VFR Discussion

There is a pic on the thread at VFRD of a 07 RWB with Blue rims, and another with red rims (but not on a RWB).
