Searching for used parts and bikes? Anyone try this?

Anyone ever use http://www.searchtempest.com/ for parts and used bikes? Searches all cities/states of Craigslist or whatever you specify. (note: after search, need to check the box and click button where it says “More Cities” between Craiglist and Ebay listings) Also does search on ebay items too. Like any search, trying different variations in searches like VF, VFR, VFR750, VFR1000 etc can make difference in results. Sure, there are shortcomings of this search engine but it can serve a purpose. And yes, I guess one of the downfalls I know is many craigslist sellers may not want to ship parts but meet in person....but still might be worth a shot if they realize you are legit buyer. And some might have to make a roadtrip to pick up bike depending on how far away it is. However, if it the bike you have been searching for.........

My son also uses www.statewidelist.com which is similar, and allows state by state searches.

I've used search tempest for a while now, I've just never had the thought cross my mind to tell many folks about it. I'll try the other service now too. Hella steal on the seat cowl.

 

Most parts of the (pre 90) VFR 500 interceptors are kind of rare in West-Europe. I found out after I bought one :eagerness:
Never saw one riding the streets either
