I'd like to provide passengers with a back rest. I'm considering a new seat that comes with a back rest or a hard tail bag with a back rest. Opinions? The hard tail bag would be a bonus for touring but do they typically require mounting hardware that is ugly to leave on and time consuming to take off? (I'm looking at the Lady and Gunfighter seat and the Givi Monokey tail bag.)

There's actually a review of the Gunfighter and Lady posted in the articles section here:

Also, the previous owner of HondaVFR.org, Karl Marsh, had this seat and he loved it (although he hated Corbin as a company).

I posted a pic of my Y2K VFR in my photo album loaded down with Corbin Beatle Bags and a Givi Trunk. My Givi trunk is real nice since it is easy to unlock form the bike with a key and carry it like a suit case. If you look closely, you will see that it has the back rest pad for the passenger. The back rest pad is about 4 inchs higher than the back rest for my Corbin saddle.
