OK so it's official I'm transferring to Honolulu HI for work and I'm going to be shipping my VFR. I have to be there by June 1st. Has anyone out there in vfrworld had dealings shipping motorcycles. I'd like to know if anyone knows of a good shipping company or about how much it will cost(I'm thinking about $1000.00 or so). I've started an internet search and am going to be calling around tomorrow. I'm going to be shipping from the Nashville Tn area to be picked up at the port in Honolulu. Any an all input would be greatly appreciated.:cheersaf:
I shipped from the UK to USA (baltimore) via K-Line and found it to be not bad, even the customs etc, yours should be straighforward. Mine was done in 6 weeks via sea and was about $850 3 years ago...
I've heard several people recommend "Forward Air". I haven't used them but I wish I would have....good luck.
Check Ebay for any bike sold by a dealer. Almost all of them have a link to a shipping agent. Seems like a good place to start. I also have heard good things about Forward Air. KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
