I am just getting back to riding again after 20 years off. Last bike owned was a gold wing which really didn't enjoy. Had a 750 supersport which was a lot of fun and before that a 500 four. Now have an anniversery vfr800. Just love riding it with my son who has a CBR600. Lots of nice smooth twisty roads in the area we live near Auburn California. My only issue I have so far is my shifting is not real smooth yet. I have heard these VFR's have a somewhat clunky shifting characteristic. Any advice on shifting would be appreciated. Otherwise I just can't wait to get out and ride this weekend.

welcome to the board. as far as the shifting goes, just be decisive about it and it seems ok. I ride a 5g, though, so it may be a little different than the 6g.
