    Hey guys!
Today I attempted to start up the bike and no luck.
But I did notice that the positive batt cable was smoking. I inmediately stopped turning the engine and inspected the cable. It was melting.
Any Ideas what can I do?
    Thanks!

Probably a short of some kind or your not grounded well check the ground cable first then check all the wires for shorts, check the R/R and the stator. If you don't have a manual Electrolux has a web site with a PDF file for trouble shooting electrical problems. I had the same issue on my 87 VFR turned out to be both a ground issue and a wire short. If your battery cables melted they should be replaced.
