First, after puling off all the fairings, I find that the moron that I bought the bike from took off the evap cannister, but left the purge control solenoid connected, leaving a vacuum leak I assume.

So I disconnect and remove the solenoid, and cap off the vacuum.

and tuck the wires away neatly.

Then I went to the other side and disconnected the Pairs solenoid. I don't have the block off plates, and, unlike on the 919, you can't see any of this stuff, so I just disconnected it and taped up the connectors.

and put a handy dandy little plug in the port in the air box that feeds the pairs system.

While I was there I put one of these in. Found it online for only $32.00, so why not...

    Fits nicely

    Left that little doo-dad diconnected...

    Looks very well made.

Even had a little bracket to hold the rubber pad for the center stand

    Fit perfectly.

Nope. Thats about it this time around. I kinda don't like changing too many things at once, Makes it hard to figure out what is wrong if it doesn't run right. Which, by the way, it runs GREAT now. I think that vacuum leak was hurting on the top end. Like a new bike now, and simply a slip on exhaust will not make that much difference, if any at all.

I put the standard delkevic on my 99 and I love the pipe too. You really can't beat it for the price. This winter I want to get the pair blockoff plates(think I saw em on ebay) and sync the throttle bodies, it runs real strong save a little bit of surging at low rpms that I think will improve a little once I make sure the throttle bodies are all on the same page.

Never heard of syncing the throttle bodies. How do you do that? I remember syncing the carbs on my older bikes, I used to have a set of carb sticks... Hmmmm. Me wants to do that...

If you have a shop manual it goes over the process pretty well. Basically each throttle body has an adjustable bypass passage that flows air at idle when the throttle plates are closed. I guess they are known for going out of sync. I'm guessing they are set at the factory but once the bike has some miles put on it and the throttles wear in, they go off. Theres some posts on it as well, so you could probably figure out how to do it from this site.
