probably shouldn't post about killing a baby, there was a kid in texas i think just got released, just said something on bookface about blowing up a school and put jk/lol next line, some dumb canadian woman reported him and he sat in jail for 3 months before judge dismissed it. you could be the news replacing royal baby news.

 

Compared to the media pounding about Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman the Royal Baby news is great!

Lots of room for latitude here as far as posting goes. Freedom of speech and all that, do we really want the man looking over our shoulders any more than he is now? IMO the mods or the poster should put that post in file X even though there was no actual intent.

I readily admit, I used to me a bit of a loyalist. Until fairly recently when I became more aware of the lifestyle, and the sense if outrageous entitlement the royal family has. I am so turned off by it all, i think it is time for them to become ordinary, all be it very rich, citizens who enjoy no perks at the cost of the tax payer. I mean after all. They fart and shit, and if they don't wipe their own asses, someone else does it for them so they do not get a build up of cling-ons.

We here in Canada are now a sovereign nation who's only ties to the royal family is that the queen is our head of state, only in ceremony. It is our Parliament, who are elected, that runs this country, and they only do a fair job at that.

Yup. I think squirrel's choice of words in his caption may set off a few alarms, in which case, all our comments are also gong to be seen. I am worried! Just think. The Chilliwack Times is going to read and may report on my opinion on this over stated event.

The opinion is devided in our household I don't care at all about the new Royal baby but my wife and older daughter do so I find something else to do when its on.

 

^^^ I think any "royalty" connected to the Windsors died with the Charles and Diana divorce and airing of all the dirty linen that went along with it. I couldn't care less either way but think the monarchy is a good thing when those involved use their famous names to do good. With regard to the taxpayers money, it has been argued that as a tourist attraction they bring in a huge amount of revenue, this whole baby thing being a case in point.

 

In all fairness I don't normally give a hoot about our royals as they have
no hold or influence over our government and sit back watching it all go
to ruin, but William and Harry are a new breed and certainly doing things their own way which I admire

 

I can't argue with you on that. They do bring tourism dollars to your economy but not ours. If they come over here, it is the Canadian Taxpayer who foots their travel bill. And the security costs, especially if it is the queen, is astronomical. I know, I have been part of that team a few times. My outfit were responsible for all political VIP security while in Canada, with assistance received from the police of the cities they were in. Regardless of what police department, the Canadian taxpayer pays the bill. And that amounts to likely a couple million a day by time all is said and done. Keep them over there. Raise my retirement pension with what we save. I will send you enough to buy a pint a week for the rest of your life.

You guys over there really have to grasp and take hold of the concept of ice cold beer though.
