Can't believe there is not a thread on this last race of the year.
Guintoli and the Aprillia were brilliant.

Any thoughts on Bazz not listening to Kawasaki? If Rea had not passed Sykes near the end of the race he would have lost by 1 point. And taking out Tom at the beginning of the season on a bone head pass attempt took away 25 potential points.

Everyone on Crash.net is on Baz's side, but I think he was acting like a retard. He knew there was nothing Kawi could do to punish him, so he burned every bridge he could on his way out, like a child.

Sykes is also acting like a child, calling Baz out on twitter and such, but I don't really blame him... Kawi factory racing is a team, so one would expect teamwork and sacrifice for the team at times. Baz ruined Sykes' season in Sepang, sure it was a mistake but the fact remains, Baz defends his actions by saying that nothing would have changed if he had let Tom past, since Guintoli finished 1st in race 2 and Tom was 3rd... But he didn't know the outcome of race 2 when he chose to ignore team orders, so...

In any event, team orders are BS and should be declared illegal in the regulations, but until that day, they should be followed, as the team is the one paying your incredible salary.

I agree with you. In race 1 he did not know what the outcome of race 2 would be. He's 21 and it shows. It use to be illegal for teams to give such orders but it was always done. It can easily be argued he knocked Sykes out of the championship, literally.

Next year I think Rea will be the guy to beat, he has done wonders on the old CBR the last 2 years, riding at 110% all the time.

    Baz interview.

The MotoGP press conference was interesting today... One of the reporters asked the panel (Randy DePuniet, Pol Espargaro, Valentino Rossi, Marq Marquez, Jorge Lorenzo and Stefan Bradl) what they thought of Baz ignoring the team orders, and pretty much every single person said that if it came down to a championship, each of them would do as the team asked. A few (RDP and Bradl, IIRC) did say that it's a tough order to swallow, since nobody in 2nd wants to come in 3rd.

In the end, it should be illegal to put it on a pit board. If the team manager wants to say before the race "if you can help your teammate, do so" then that is fine (IMO). But it's so brazen to specifically say "drop X places".

Even when it was illegal it was still done. Remember Max Baigi's teammate 4 years ago almost having to stop on the track so Max could beat Sykes by half a point?
