Well My 86 VFR700 has a cracked starter clutch that is proving to be impossible to find (even new) So I got my hands a one off of a 1987 and 1986 model all three are different. So my question is will they work the same as the all appear to be able to bolt to one another but the pick ups are different.

Sorry I cant be more specific but my brother is working on it for me since I am out of the country for quite a while

The 87 had different pick up coils but the starter clutch should work just fine.

Awesome my brother was worried because the 87's has multiple nubs as opposed to the two large ones one the 86 and he was afraid it would cause the engine to fire wrong
