So I just came across a 1998 VTR 1000 parts bike. The bike has a racetech rear shock and racetech springs and valving in the forks. I am planning to swap the forks and brakes to one of my 4th gen or the 5th gen. I was wondering if the rear shock would fit the either gens if the VFR? The reason I want to go this route if possible is, I get these parts pretty much free since what I paid for the parts bike can be realized by selling the frame, bodywork, and exhaust which I already have buyers for.
Jamie D could probably give you better answers there, altho I suspect the answer will be no. Not too many parts seem to interchange between the two bikes.
