The Grand Tetons Mtns 1st update

Went to the Tetons today. It was a bit chilly but a go day for photos. Here's a few.

My humble abode for the next few days.[IMG][IMG]

    Some mountains. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Yellowstone in a few days. Riding thru the mountains tomorrow to Dubois and some.

I made an update to the trip over at CBRXX. Just to much time to duplicate it here. So if anybody is interested here's a link. Starts at post #9

Nice, since you're in that part of the country have you looked into Bear tooth and Chief Joseph, IMO probably only a couple of the most epic roads in the US.

Beartooth pass is closed. It had 6' snow drifts on it two days ago, wtf in June! Never heard of
chief Joseph, is that a road/pass? I'll have to look in to it.

Hiking!!?? What are you talking about? This is a RIDING trip. Can't waste time walking around in the woods bothering the little animals. But I have been walking every where here in town, that's enough for me. I just walked 2 1/2 blocks to breakfast,I feel like Lewis and Clark. lol

Huh ... I was thinking of heading through Bear Tooth as a day trip (1 day in and 1 day back to Keystone).

If you do go that way, please let me know the conditions of the pass.

Chief Joseph by way is just north of Cody Wy. and does hook up with the bear tooth hwy on the west end. Bummer though, it too may have snow, I guess that's what elevation has in store for us this time of year. Yea been there when it was like 90+ in the low lands only for it to be like 40 at the pass with a wind colder than a witches tit, and this was July.

Wow nice looking road. It's kind of out of my way to the east. There are so many good roads to take around here that I wish I had a month to just search them out. I just found one called Grand Loop Rd that looks very interesting and I think I can fit it in and still be close to my route. But it cuts out going thru Big Sky. Decisions decision decisions what to do..........................

Grey ... whatever you do, keep me in the loop on conditions in those passes. I'm seriously thinking of taking an extra day by myself and doing those routes (take the long way home from South Dakota to Manitoba).

Will do. You can check this site for daily conditions. After looking at it I'm not thinking about even trying.

Chief Joseph is THE way to hook up to the Beartooth. Beautiful road.

Long, the very straight road past the Tetons still has some of the most amazing scenery in the States.

Gator, when I were there last summer I didn't feel it. Perhaps I didn't spend enough time to enjoy the scenery.
I just need more time and take it slow :thumb: I will be back for sure.
