This is going to be a bike in the same spirit as the Ducati superleggera and Bimota BB3, imo... A $45-50k superbike for the street, they'll sell a hundred or so examples just so they can race it in WSBK.

I'd have to agree on this. Pretty much what the RC30/RC45 were, well above the everyday riders pocket book. Still, doesn't mean we can't go and drool on one, if/when they do come ashore.

+1 on that! Believe it when I see it! Honda has been a little frugal on the V-4 goodies lately. The 1200 needs updating, but they won't. The "new" 800 is old, and could've used more electronics, comfort, adjustability, gear driven cams, and a VTEC delete option! Not to mention 20 h.p. @the wheel. Honda went through a similar drought in the early 90's when they wanted to take a new direction. They ignored the faithful and tried to lure in new non riders with bikes like the PC800 and CB1. Hopefully that'll change.

I'm just saying that if this bike is made. Then they have a 1000cc chain drive engine they could use in the VFR 800 without doing a whole lot of redesign like it would take if they wanted to use the 1200 motor cause of the shaft output. I've read and heard that Honda wants to really expand on or with the V4's for a lot of bikes. I like the VFR800 for the most part but it's lacking in the power dept AFAIC. That's why I got a BlackBird. The same designer as the VFR and same basic size , weight, wheel base and comfort with a LOT more power. It's even smoother than the 800. Once you taste the power it's very hard for me to get anything less for an all around bike.

I can see the RC213V-S as a modern day RC30. That's the only way Honda can race with it. I'm sure they will be limited and very expense like what the RC30 was. So what? Honda is not going to quit racing that's for sure.

It'd be nice to see a V-4 priced like an HP4 or Aprilia RSV4 Factory. At most. The last RC model was priced not too bad. Good bike on top of it!

This version is already spring valved. It'll be 100k or more. A more consumer priced model is doubtful. But hey they have a '15 CBR1000RR released with BNG!!!!!

Hey now, we should be so lucky to see an awesome bike like the cb-1 again. Regeared cbr400rr engine for better streetable midrange with gear driven cams in a factory streetfighter setup. You should hear the little bastid spool up to redline.
