Have wanted a VFR seems like FOREVER...a bike landed in my lap and I'm back riding. 1996 with 16K...fantastic condition bike. I've been reading the Must-do's and have a good bit of the list complete or underway. I'm 49, 235 lbs, and do not ride aggressively..but have alot of experience with Motocross, Hare Scrambles and year prior riding street bikes. I plan on riding to work a few times a week, around town, and a few trips a year. I'm also a tinkerer, engineer by trade, and have a full workshop with welding, etc capability...basically I super-dangerous with getting into projects I probably shouldn't. Done so far: (whether needed or not) 1. All Fluids Changed 2. Carbs removed and cleaned in detail and new air filter. 3. Calipers rebuilt and new brake pads 4. Rectifier replaced with new "Rick's model). 5. New Tires (Pilot Road 4 front, road 4 GT rear...stayed with the 170 size /stock 4th gen rear wheel for type of riding I will be doing) 6. Two Brothers Racing "High" mid-pipe and Slip-on. UpNext: 1. California Emission Delete (yup CA bike in VA!) and PAIR valve delete - I have a detailed schematic constructed for the Evap system removal on the 4th gen and bought the PAIR valve plate kit for 4th gen also...happening today actually. 2. 929 Shock from Jamie - Being built now and will do shortly. 3. Front Forks - Was going to do a rebuild on these but toy funds are low at the moment...may do an oil up for now.) 4. Corbin - bought a used one off ebay waiting for delivery...needs to be recovered so checking with local guys on it. Corbin said $389 to recover...not doing that. 5. HeliBars - Bought off Ebay waiting on delivery. 6. Windshield - Was looking at double bubble but wondering if it will actually do anything wind-wise. Either way I'd like to have one with more tint than stock. 7. Volt Meter - Waiting on delivery from Ebay purchase. 8. Other ideas ???
