   I'm looking to get new tires for my run to the Dragon, US RT 129 in NC/TN. I'm leaning towards Metzeler Sportec M1's.

   Get the M-1s had them on my 98 and they were great they just wear a little quicker because of the compound. I heard Michelin Pilots are very good too.  The Dunlop 208s on my new RC51 are pretty good but not sure right now if it's the tires or the fact the bike just rocks!!   ;D
