    Hello,
Looking to see what people are using for throttle lock other than the Kaoko?

I have a Kaoko on my VStrom and while it is a nice bit of kit from an engineering point, I do find it a bit cumbersome to use.

    Regards,
    Jim

    Hi Jim.
Welcome and congratulations on your 8gen purchase. Debatable as to whether it's the best VFR ever built, BUT I reckon it will prove to be the most reliable VFR ever built. There are next to no electrical issues with the 8gen. My own 2014 has over 90,000k's and others have over 100,000miles with no issues. All of the electrical problems that plagued previous gens have been addressed.

I do also have the Kaoko fitted to my 8gen. The most important thing about the Kaoko for me is how discreet and intergrated it looks, there are some weird and ugly looking throttle locker contraptions out there, had them in the past. I'm more than happy with the operation of the Kaoko be it a little fiddly, it looks neat and discreet, I like that!

Kaoko wins hands down on looks when compared to to most, I always liked the look of the Throttlemeister combined throttle lock and bar end weights, not sure if they are still available.

I tried the Kaoko and was in the camp of those who found it a little fiddle to engage.

I then bought the Atlas throttle lock and found it much easier to engage/disengage. Both work just as well once engaged.
