So I'm looking at all the cool stuff i can do to my neat new vfr1200f and came across this

    BAZZAZ Z-BOMB HONDA VFR1200F TIMING RETARDER 2010 - 2012 VFR 1200 NEW | eBay

(if the link doesnt work its the BAZZAZ Z-BOMB timing retarder designed to "eliminate factory restrictions" in 1st n 2nd gear.)

whats the deal? if i get this does it mean the thing'll fishtail or fly out from under me? i have a fear of forgetting being in gear n releasing the clutch to have it fly up n out. (possible urban legend) it that why they restrict it? or is this thing BS?

anyone tried one? whats the deal?

it's actually an un-retarder it makes the ECU read the third gear map in the three lower gears instead of the 1st and 2nd maps that have the training wheels on them Bazzaz is a reliable company, Ammar Bazzaz tuned Matt Maladin's 3 World Championship Bikes !!!

Ok that makes sence, thanks for the link to that great thread!

Would this be something to be used along with the Bazzaz ecu controller? Or as a cheap fix instead? I know programmers are really detailed, and im not really into tuning (got enough to do) but if it adds power with presets or something... Im all for it!

Z bomb makes a great improvement on it's own...it's the only performance mod i've done so far and it's like a different bike...it runs like i thought it would out of the box....i'm adding the ZF-I fuel controller and Akro slip on soon
