    computers + magnets

    The bags look nice.

May seem like a silly question but am I correct in assuming I shouldn't put a computer device in a magnetic tank bag? (laptop, pda, GPS)

i would not put a laptop in a magnetic tank bag because is has a hard drive that a magnet may cause damage to, i.e. loss of data. As for a pda, they usually have flash memory which is not affected by magnets. I would also thing that GPS systems do not have magnetic media either. Floppy disks, hard drives, and ZIP disks (or other magnetic media) should not be placed near magnets.

For the record, I've carried my laptop many times in my Joe Rocket magnetic tank bag and never had a problem. I'm not an expert in the field, that's just my personal experience.

The magnets might not be strong enough then. But it's not something I would risk. I so hate lost info. lol
