Help! I have a 53000 mile 1986 vfr 750, I have just fitted a set of used camshafts and followers as the originals were pitted and now the top end is noisy. evrything appears to be in order and to spec but it is still noisy, not a tap, knock or rattle just normal engine noises but LOUD. I have checked everything twice and have even re-fitted the original camshafts; noise was the same - it was quiet before I started so it must be something that I have done!

Any suggestions as to what to try next would be gratefully received!

I also have just bought a 1986 VFR700.....on purchase I noticed a very noisy top end as well....spoke with one dealer and was told that it was normal on these bikes due to the gear drive.....does not sound right to me either.....interested in any answers you may receive
