Hello everyone, hope your holidays are going good.

Last month my chain snapped on my 2000VFR and did some damage under the bike which has been repaired (as far as I can tell). The bike starts right up, but once I push down on the shifter to get into first gear the bike stalls so I tried a few different ways, I noticed when I lightly push down the shifter the bike goes into 1st gear and I'm able to ride around in first and pop it into 2nd, so far I haven't attempted to go in 3rd, whenever I downshift the bike stalls, I was wondering if I might have a damaged sensor? or something hooked up incorrectly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    thanks.

check to see that the mounting bolts for the clutch slave are intact and that the sprocket cover is proppaly secured. place your hand on the slave and squeeze the lever to feel for any movement between slave and cover or cover and it's mounting points.
