    Hello Everyone,

Yes its me (speed) lol, I have been gone for a couple of years, just got caught up with family and life, but I'm back.
So when I left I had my 86 750 all torn apart to chrome the frame and swing arm, well that all done and its about time I took these boxes of parts and put my ride back together, after all I cant I cant drive a truck forever.

Ok so I got everything out and started assembling it and stopped, if I went to all the trouble of chrome why would I put it back together with old paint so ..... a few questions

    1. repaint with the factory colors and new decals
    2. do something Crazy to match all the chrome, after all with all my mods on this ride it scrams bad ass already.

so I was thinking, like the base coat of maybe yellow twist or a lime green like the Plymouth cuda's were, but I'm not hung up on green
    and ghost flames.
so if I could get your options on colors and type of flames and colors of flame ? speed

I think Honda got the colours absolutely right on this bike. Keep it stock.

Stock, for sure, just color match that fender. It's a gnarly looking bike the way it sits. That exhaust is pretty badass too. I'm thinking of getting rid of my 4-2-1 and going with some upswept duals like that. Is it a custom job?

Stick with the original colors but line up the red white and blue from the fairing to the fender

That certainly is a pain scheme compared to the Honda original paint schemes.

Who the hell is Fear anyway? A stripper near you?

    Da Stock Rocks!

    Stock paint is usually timeless. 1986 Honda VFR750 is a case in point. 1986 Honda VFR750 Brochure.jpg 600dpi VFR.jpg 600dpi VFR 1.jpg

IF you are repainting anyway then I'd go for something striking and different. Neon green / yellow. Candy apple red (mmmmmmm). SOmething that turns heads though!

Im at the point like I said where If I have to repaint then why not do something different ? I really like the factory look of white. red and blue, Im kinda 50% for stock colors and 50% for crazy something to turn heads but my forks kinda do that now.
the crazy side of me says a bright yellow and light gray ghost flames, however like it was said ghost flames are out in this day. I think over the tail light in small letters ( mid life crisis ) LOL. I am taking the forks apart to reseal them so I will have the lower housings chromed. I am so picky so I will have to do all the paint and decals myself so it wont be that hard to go nutz. I need to decide soon I want to get back to riding and meet ups.

I'm liking the basically stock color theme, but with updated tints/paints that really pop!
Like the pearl white instead of regular, and brilliant metallic blue and red replacing the standard paints. Clear-coat, and embed VFR decals if you so desire.....

badassness comes from the bike and and its proportions and features, not a paint scheme. I say remain stock, tweak it if you want but these original schemes were designed to give better proportion to the fairings and add or remove visual weight to areas that looked awkward.
