Unique 837cc 96 VFR for sale in BC Canada

Hey guys I found this posting on the Ontario VFR list. The fella has a very unique overbored (837cc)VFR for sale with tons of unique extras. I figured that he wouldn't mind me posting it up here for y'all to read. There were no pics unfortunately.


So here is his ad,

I suppose that is to say that the Black Hole is for sale? the best of Brian Law?s big bores at 837cc, all the possible performance and weight saving measures. A 494 lb wet (full tank of fuel ? measured on a pallet scale and yes ? that means near 440 lb dry) 94/95/96 VFR that produces 114 bhp and 62 lb of torque (dyno charts available). Hi-comp JR 12.5:1 pistons, modified intake, port & polish, K&N, Dyna coils, full TBR stainless header/exhaust with extra can, VFRness with 2000 RR, Ohlins Type IV rear shock, Racetech front full treatment, custom titanium rear hub (one of three built by an aerospace engineer in LA), Dymag pressure-cast hollow 3 spoke rims, Pazzo levers, Y2k non-condom mirrors, Throttlemiester CC, carbon-fibre bodywork everywhere. Nearly new Shinko Raven 9?s (amazing tires) and EB HB pads all around. Smoked windscreen and all non-carbon body work painted MB Obsidian Metallic. Rims are red. Photos available on request. Open to any and all offers. Come out to Nelson and ride the best roads in NA, accommodation and libations included gratis. Probably about 80k on the frame, 30k on the engine since the bore job/rebuild. Instruments and various parts from three bikes, frame and engine are from original ?96 so numbers match and no problem with registration anywhere. Goes through less than ? litre of synthetic oil over 5k km which is change interval. Runs & starts like factory new. Cannot be ridden anywhere in the Kootenays without being chased by cops.



Rims alone are $3850 US these days (and are worth it ? weight NOTHING). The hub is irreplaceable but bulletproof, it is solid titanium and looks awesome. Maybe 20k on both. The Ohlins shock will run near $2000 new. I figure I can sell the rims /hub and shock alone as parts for $3000 or so. Motor separately for a grand easy. Tires have less than 2k. I figure with extra effort and associated costs I could net out near $5000 parting it out. Make me an offer within horseshoes distance and I?ll happily send it off to a new and loving home. I have a big garage and 4 other vehicles so I?d rather sit next to it and drink beer than give it away. Be kind and realistic. Prolly going to buy a new VFR anyways. A matter of survival..
