I saw the article below at the Motorcycle Daily WebSite

    Honda Interceptor to Get V-5?
    By Dirck Edge

Motorcycle News of England is confidently predicting that Honda will introduce a new Interceptor this Fall featuring a V-5 engine. The other new technology we discussed in a rumor last June, is also expected by MCN. Honda's Interceptor/VFR has always showcased the latest technology available from the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer, and this Fall we may see further evidence of that.

Sure it would be cool, but I just dont see it happening. A V-5 would be very costly to manufacture and depending on features - If it exists I dont see a price tag less than 14K and probly more.

Now especially with motoGP V4 based, a V4 makes much more sence if Honda does it at all. Still I dont see much vision from Corporate Honda. They will take the "safe" road no matter what.

The V4 has been tried and found superior. It will be a few years before we see if 5 is even better than 4. I don't recall any major duds for Honda, so we'll see.
I do remember 4 wheel steering on the older Preludes didn't last very long.
They also did auto transmission before and dropped it.
But as far as entire motors...?
Never buy a first year model.

Will believe it the day I can sit on it. Honda is better at making promises then keeping them.

That being said, they've dwindled their line down to nothing -- maybe this is why. They need a liter-bike to compete with the Bus and Kaw's and a street bike to compete with the Burger King and the Vrod.

It's their turn to step up, let's hope they can.

IF Honda comes out with something close to whats on the MCN cover I'll start saving my pennies. I really like it and 150hp sounds like something I need. I'm less sure about the auto/button shifting but they've got it working great in high end cars so we'll see. One of the bike mags said ABS will be an option on the new CBR next year and all Honda motorcycles will eventually have it. Always interesting to see progress in action.

Well they've got to do something with the VFR. Even if the new model sucks, I still want to see it.

No,I would not buy this monstrousity. An automatic transmission? If I wanted that I would buy a piece of shit moped and trade in my gorgeous girlfriend for a 300lb bitch named Orca. Tiptronic tranmissions are garbage. It's still an automatic no matter what anyone says. Automatics are for people who can't drive.
