Ok, since Cupid day falls on a Thursday this year, I had to plan around it. So, a couple of coworkers and I made plans to get my g/f away from her overlord of a dad and her family this past saturday. We spent the day shopping and lokoing around, saw The Eye, a very good movie btw, and then went to eat at Master Applebees. During our time at Applebees, I saw a guy I ride with and told him my plans. He was watching as I went back to my table, had my g/f slide to the end of the seat (it was a booth). I got down on my knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes. When my bro saw me slide the ring on her finger, he started clapping. The table next to him joined in as well as others, but they had no idea why until he yelled out "My bro just got engaged!". She did not know whether to laugh or cry or both.

So, as of February 9, 2008 I am engaged. No date has been set (she is still giggly and in shock), but it will probably be a JoP marriage and a bigger ceremony later on.

Actually, I am the lucky one M. But thanks all the same you guys. It was actually all I could do to stick to the plan. She would ask periodically thru the day what I was getting her and I would say I am not telling. Then she would follow up with when am I getting it and I would say when you get it. I walked around all day with the ring in my pocket. lol

Not sure yet. We will probably keep it simple. Since I don't currently have a vfr (will probably get another later) if we go with a two wheel theme, it will be for all types I guess.

Congratulations Vinny. I've been married a total of 19 years, but I manage to spread that time around a little. My recommendations are to take time to listen to what she has to say, always let her think she's got upper hand, and do your best to make her feel the way you did when you gave her that ring as often as you can. If you do that, she'll be happy, you'll be happy and you will be probably be able to ride as much as you want until the babies come. Now that is a completely life altering event! Make sure she is "the one" as they say before heading down that path....

Now keep in mind those recommendations are coming from a man who has been divorced a few times....

Are you dating my daughter?

Seriously, congrats. I'll be hitting 16 years next month. Holy crap... 16 years.

I hope things work out as well for you.

Just learn these words.. "I'm sorry" "I'll do whatever you want" "yes dear" and most of all.. "I love you." That last one is the most important.

Even after nearly 16 years I don't leave the house without telling my wife I love her.
