6 Pads for $15 and free shipping?

If you only put them on the rear, sure. When it comes to front pads, it's your life at stake. Even in normal day to day you still want high quality on the front just for confidence. I think everyone should run EBC HH pads up front, but that's just me.

I looked for reviews and mostly found fitment problems. No real reviews about the feel or power of them. If your budget is that tight, then they might be okay. Hard to say.

No point, just facts. They are still making a profit. When you subtract shipping costs and profit, Caltric might have $1 per pad in costs. The cost of steel for the backing plates is fairly constant so the breaking compound is the biggest variable. They may mix it up in large batches, might have lots of cheap filler materials to add mass and their quality control and standards might not be so good. They may not test their compounds. They may not have engineers designing the compound. It may just be a rough copy of another company's compound.

So assuming it fits, the performance of the compound may not be that great, or it might not last long or it might fade at lower temps or might be noisy or might dust a lot or might wear the rotors more or might transfer material to the rotors creating a pulsing feel or might drop off in performance when wet, etc...

So its a bit of a gamble. I would at least go with a brand that's trusted and people have reviewed. That's less of a gamble.

I love saving money, but at some point even I draw the line. And $15 for 6 brake pads is past that line. Some things can be scrimped on but I don't scrimp on brakes. Too much depends on them. That's my opinion anyway.

So as long as I got you guys here, what thickness is the lining on a new pad? I got about 3/32 left.

Are OEM pads bonded or riveted? What about EBC?

Do you feel riveted pads dissipate heat better.

    (duc, I wish I was your brother in-law ;)

It doesn't really matter whether bonded or riveted pads dissipate heat better. You won't find riveted brake pads, so it's a moot point.

If you've got 3/32 left, change them. Pads are cheaper than rotors to replace. Don't try to cut corners in the wrong places.
