I am going thru an extra set of VF1000F forks for the wheel swap. I want to have them modified (Gold Valves and Springs) and just ready to install when the time comes. The donor forks are low miles, the bushings look new and the fork oil that came out was still bright red.

But... the fork caps. Pretty sure I'm gonna have to weld a socket to one of them to get it loose.

Anyone got a set of 1000F or 1000R caps? I'll even take one, either one, but would prefer the air valve cap.

Sorry Cap, not much luck on my end either. I did find one with the long rod attached to it, but for some reason my other one has grown legs and walked off. Probably in another parts bin some where.

Stray, I will take that one if it is available, please. You can even cut the tube off for shipping, the Gold Valves disable the stock rebound adjustment anyway.

Updated the title. Vf1000R fork caps are shorter than VF1000F caps. They only barely grab the threads before bottoming. :(

I'm not in dire straights here, but I wanted to keep the second set of forks complete and usable. The tops of the VF1000F fork tubes could be shortened to remove the un-threaded area of the ID to accommodate (since I'm sliding the forks up in the clamps anyway). There is a perfect groove just down from the top to index at, but I'm not liking that option.
