Hey guys, Im new and am fixing a 1985 vf1000r for a fellow, he sent the carbs out to get prof cleaned and tank coated... hasn't ran in 5 years... I have it together after putting it together as a basket case... theres 2 lines between the carbs that take the fuel lines and theres two more pipes that have a hose running in between and hook on to a hose that looks like a vent that runs down to the rear shock... after starting and riding this fuel started to flow out of those vent hoses... why?? there's no fuel coming out of the float bowls so I wouldn't think its flooding? it ran great and rode great for about 10mins and then ran like shit and fuel was leaking from that big hose by the shock...

Can you post a pic of the tubes and hoses in question?

Hey, I can I'll have to rip the tank off again and take pics... to better explain my issue, there's 4 pipes running between the carbs which all have fuel hose connections on them, the two lower connections I hooked up the fuel hoses and the upper pipes have it looks like a vent hose hooking the two pipes together and an additional outlet for a vent hose which heads down to the rear shock... there's fuel coming from that hose... if that helps you picture what Im wondering about let me know... thanks...
