I think the bid(s) reached beyond what I'd pay already.

But it is mint condition, 1 owner, and all highway miles!

Just never know what someone is willing to pay to get into a vehicle anymore. Some bikes that were worth gold are worth jack and some bikes become the new "cult" bike and you can't even buy one.

Two sayings come to mind …

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
    and
There is a sucker born every minute

Honestly that example is worth about $750 to me . Just too much damage. At least we know the cam bearings are good!!!!

written description mentions it as an investment (!?) cam lobes, not bearings were most often troublesome.

The guy says in the description that it’s a “ limited production square tube “ 1000. So I’m kind of wondering was the round tube 1000 is… probably Sabre or Magna but those were 1100’s

FWS1000. The bike that inspired the VF1000R. Some things got lost in translation, but I still love my 1000Rs. Especially after suspension upgrades and wide wheels for modern radials.

Calling it a limited production square tube is really a stretch, a bit of marketing BullShit to entrap the uninitiated I'd say.

Its just a neglected old interceptor worth $1000 CAD at best in my mind. Of course Ive been wrong before.....I remember the day.

Yeah, doesn't even have any cool parts. And no, the engine guards and rack are not cool.

Solid start to a project at the right price (<1000), but that's what it is. Or if cheap enough, an all weather battle bike. The motors really are lovely. At least mine is.

I love the mismatched grips, with the right one coming off of a Hodaka sitting in a field or something. God I hated those grips.
