vf750 interceptor back firing

    could this be causedb by low compression 120psi has new piston and rings leak down test says all ok gets gas timing checks good im stumped

    could be incorrect cam timing.......or wrong valve clearance setting

    UH.......a little more info would help but I would think you have a fuel/ air leak issue. Have you had the carbs off and cleaned them.Check your boots for damage and be sure the carbs are seated all the way down. And check your hoses to carbs for air leaks.:thumbsup:

    So you took it apart. So did ya place the rings in the proper order on the piston?
    The comp should be @ 170 and higher and uniform in all cyls. next Question is you did a deglase of the cyls?
    Run the engine and do a breakin policy of up and down on the throtle keep the rpm below 5000 for the first 180 miles modulating the throtle up and down again . After all this redo the comp test to see if it had gone up to a normal range. Also do a wet test wth oil to se if the comp increas's -
