I'm considering the purchase of a 2010 Gen 7 and the one in question is fitted with a Power Commander. Does this cure the infamous 1st/2nd gear low power issues? If not, what exactly does it do to benefit the bike? Also, does it negate the Gear Position Indicator? Finally, did Honda cure the 1st/2nd gear issues on the 2012/2013?

I do not own a 1200, but from what I remember reading about it is that the 1st/2nd gear issue on the 2010 is still there even with the PCV. That issue was fixed with the 2012 / 2013 models. The PCV cleans up the fueling on the bike and on the 800, eliminates the low speed stumbling issues. I imagine the PCV has advantages on the 1200 as well. There are a number 1200 owners who know the answers for sure, so hang tight and they will chime in. Welcome to the forum.

1st & 2nd gear restrictions are there for all 7th gens. The only way to get rid of it is with a Bazzazz Bomb or an ECU flash. The Bomb is cheaper, but you lose the gear indicator.

2010 had fueling metering issues, and the 1st and 2nd gear restrictions, plus the top speed limiter....an ECU re flash will fix all in one shot.....see link below, or you can buy a BZAAZ chip and a PCV and take care of all but the top speed limiter....I have a PCV, BZAAZ chip and a slip on.....158 HP at the wheel, 89 TQ, no restrictions in 1st or 2nd gear....the Guhl re flash is 350.00. About the same cost as the PCV and the BZAAZ chip....
