Hi there, I'm Dambi and I recently bought a 1999 VFR 800 FiX, the bike has fallen off it's prop stand a few times and the left hand lower fairing is badly scratched and cracked. I have seen lots of aftermarket fairing sets form Hong Kong and China, and I have been told that some are very good quality, but which ones???? Any ideas which set is good on e-bay it's a lot to spend £320 ($500 +) to find out????????????

    I'd much appreciate some feedback.

    Hey Dambo

Before you go to the expense of ordering new fairings, you might want to check to see if a local auto body shop can repair the fairing piece first. The previous owner of my 2000 VFR800 had let the bike fall off the side stand and the fairing was badly gouged and cracked around one of the mounting holes. A friend of mine that owns a body shop was able to repair the fairing and paint the fairing to match the existing body work. The repairs only cost $125 and all I had to do was order a replacement "VFR800" decal from Honda.

If you do decide to replace the fairing kit, a friend of mine replaced the entire fairing kit for a wrecked bike that he prurchased. He got the fairing kit for his 2010 CBR600RR from NiceCycle Fairings. He mentioned that the paint job was really good and the fitment body panels were as good as the factory parts. Their website shows the 1998-2001 VFR800 fairing kit as being $829 which is certainly more than the China and Hong-Kong kits but if my friends experience is any indication the parts should be free of defects. The shipping from the US to the UK would likely be similar as that from Hong-Kong or China as well. Here is the link to Nice Cycle's website.

Good luck with your search and weldome to the forum. Don't forget to post some pics of the new ride.

Thanks Zoom Zoom, I looked at their web site and the VFR Fairings do look great, my only fear is postage and UK customs on that value !!! I also see they can supply seperate body items, which is even better..... Good work.

    Hey Dambo

The other thing you might consider if you want to replace just the one piece of fairing would be Honda Parts Nation. I was able to buy OEM parts from these guys for my last bike (a 97 VFR750). Their body parts are factory pieces and you can order pretty much anything by the piece. The parts are about half of what Honda charges and they come pre-painted and with the factory decals already installed, just like buying the parts from Honda.

Here's a link to their website as well
