    Hey gang, just wanted to drop a quick post about all my racing thoughts about my new to me 2003 VFR.
    • Getting new tires (Michelin PR3's)
    • getting 16k service (minus valve check, minus oil change)
    • Finally got a PCIII USB map I like (for now, will save to have professionally tuned)
    • Found a station with ethanol free gas (87 octane) FTW.
    • Getting better mileage (28mpg-->39+mpg)
    • Does the idle for this year occilate? Not like it's going to die out, it changes from 1100-1300 RPM, maybe I'm just being anal.
    • got my personalized plate "LVZMBZ" livezombies, or some such thing. they're like $10 here in VA.

    That's it. I'll word vomit more when i can think of it, but I'm super stoked to get a tune-up and replace the consumables and get new tires so I can get out and ride a ways!

    Sound like you are taking good care of her :rolleyes:
    Now you said maintenance......What did you do?
    RPM 1100 to 1300 is fine. Some would adjust to 1500

    For me, after I picked her up, I ran a couple of tanks of seafoam, adjusted the chain, cleaned the chain, changed the oil, adjust the rear pre-load, and reset the front forks to factory for future tweaking after tuning, played around with the power commander and had a shop send me a leaned out stock map (they stock are so rich).

    I thought that stock tuning was lean because of emissions.?

    I live in charlottesville and had the service done at Wayne Cycle shop in Waynesboro.

    For the 16k service, minus valve check and oil, flush and fill brake, clutch, and coolant, 4x new spark plugs, mount and balance new Michelin Pilot Road 3's it ran me about $850.00 after taxes. Not too shabby for a bike I paid $3k for.

    Also the mechanic had an ear to ear grin after test riding and noted how clean she look and how well it had been maintained. I feel like a proud papa!

    Now to break in the new tires and get out and ride....Downside is rain for next few days, but I have the whole summer ahead!

    Let me know. Not sure I've been on 33W before, but as long as it's a day trip, I'm down.
