So they're going more in line with Triumph's Tiger 1050?

It peaks my curiosity. I'll be interested to see the real model.

What's with the ugly beaks on bikes nowadays? First it was BMW and now

many brands, including Ducati, put these ugly Jimmy Durante and Cyrano de Bergerac noses on the front . . . yuk!

IMHO, 90% of the new bikes, including sportbikes, are downright ugly, no . . . fugly.

This might be one reason that new bike sales are not doing very well and that

"retro" style bikes are selling better than before.

I'm just glad they're coming out with some new and different models. After the line up of a few years ago, I thought Honda may have given up on their bike line-up. I'm interested to see it in its final version and not just a swoopy drawing.

If, And I mean IF, this is a smaller, lighter V4 powered Honda as an option to Shamu, they may be onto something. It's still a long way off from production. I can only hope they dump the shaft drive, the two piston "turn off" thing and make a more capible bike. I'm not all that much of a fan of the super motard/crossover style, but if Honda does have a plan to make a V4 powerplant that may evolve into a bike that may be marketed as an "Interceptor" I'm all for a few misguided prototype bikes that may allow that to happin. Still depressed the RC211/RC212 VFR ideas were dropped in some sake induced brain fart.

I can't believe these assholes.... the "writers" and commenters on that site. You've been whining for 10 years for Honda to build a lightweight comfy sportbike with a V4 engine.... meanwhile you installed helibars and peg lowering kits on your VFRs.

And when Honda finally listens and custom builds you a bike you piss and moan about it. Hell you don't know ANYTHING about the bike other than a basic sketch of what it looks like. Fuck off already!

Where did anyone claim that it could go off road?

"Contrast the motorcycle seen in this sketch with the 2011 Honda CBR250R. One is simple and functional, the other isn’t. Honda says the V4 crossover, “will have the flexibility and exciting attitude of a naked performance machine, with the more comfortable upright riding position and design cues inspired by adventure bikes.” That’s right, it’s a vehicle that looks off-road capable, but isn’t; where have we seen that before? "

It seems honda is targeting the adventure bike market w/ this model.
Just sayn if the bike looks like it can go off road, someone will go off road with it.

    Lighten up Francis

U fale @ reeding komrehenshun. "Comfortable upright riding position and design cues inspired by adventure bikes" is a long way from "ride me over sand dunes and through rivers"

What is "not functional" about this bike as declared by that retard Wes Siler?

edit: nobody will be entering the Ducati Hypermotard in any motard races, but does that mean it isn't a fantastic motorcycle? Imagine a Hypermotard with a VFR800 motor. You wouldn't enjoy riding that?

    :doh::doh:doh:

what I am say'n is if it is NOT AN ADVENTURE BIKE don't make it look like one. They don't need to make it look like an off road bike or a VFR 1200.
Honda also is calling it a cross over bike, that means the bike will fill more then one need, again if it looks off road someone will go off road with it. Not on a sand dune but perhaps logging roads.. Look at the picture it looks like a dirt bike had sex w/ the VFR 1200
You see the same style on the new 250 honda is putting out, why can't Honda design a new line of bikes w/o taking bits and pieces off an existing bike.
If there was a class to run the Ducati Hypermotard in a motard race, they would race it.

Did I miss something? where is my Honda lightweight comfy sport bike???
I don't want a crossover, or an over weight pig of a bike.
I do like the VFR 1200 but it is not the bike ( VFR ) I wanted. The VFR 1200 has the same problems my 6th gen has.
Honda would lead the pack if they just did a lighter more powerfull VFR but they did not.
how many VFR's would be idle on the showroom floor had it been the V-5 bike???

again lighten up Francis, we like to poke fun and prod at new stuff and there is nothing wrong with that.
