VFR500 Carb Info Vel stacks

    VFR700 Carb Info Vel stacks

    What year did VFR700 use these carbs with velocity stacks in the airbox, did they inprove HP?

    Gen 4 used them, never saw them earlier, except on my little '88 VTR 250.

    generally, i believe the stacks were mostly tuned to boost HP where torque or HP curves started to sag, that is, to fill in dips in the power curve.

    What you show in your picture is bone stock - all of the carbs came that way.

    Yes, those black rubber pieces are velocity stacks, but not really in the aftermarket performance sense. It's like saying your bike has "a fuill exhauast". Well, of course it does, but the meaning there is that it's got a full aftermarket exhaust. Some folks have made performance velocity stacks that improve power all over. Check out Factory Pro's site for info on these parts. The bottom line - I don't know of anyone who has made them for the 2nd Gens.
