Hey guys, I am not too crazy about racing around on motorcycles but I am a little curious about this.

Does anyone know the top speed in each of the gears for a 94 VFR750?

I know I can go out and do it myself but I have no really to reach the max speed in each gear. Im pretty sure by the end of first I would already be breaking the law.
Been searching internet and forums, still can not find the answer. :frown:

How long you own your fourth Gen bike? I have a turd gen bikie, and I kinda short shift it cause I hate to beat the snot out of my stuff. I can tell you it goes around 150 on the top and I shift into sixth gear at about 90 MPH or so on the expressway. Sixth is almost an overdrive, dont know about your fourth gen bike regarding gear ratios. If you wana flog your chit, just run it into the rev limiter and shift, you wont hurt that engine.

I have only have had the bike for about 2 weeks now, not too much into racing around the bike since it needs a little TLC right now. I would assume the bike would hit 60 just in first, maybe just a tad over looking at the revs at a given speed.

That chart is interesting in the above post. I am sure you can find charts on the internet regarding pretty much anything from the amount of sun required to grow heirloom tomatoes to how much chit a sow would produce eating hydrophonically grown farm food. I will tell you I have 74,000 miles on my bike and had the stock clutch to 70,000 or so. I short shift all my bikes pretty much and leave them in a gear which pulls well but does'nt lug the engine. However, when I do make the expressway, I am not afraid to rev the bike into the appropriate RPM to shift into 6th. My bike has not hit the red line more than maybe dozen times in its entire life, I dont believe that I am a slow rider and think I am pretty easy on my equipment. So Cheers and ride that Thang man...its a gud bikie...btw it still hits 150 or so...

Well, I slowly took it to red-line in first gear today, it hits about 63mph. If I do that is second I'm pretty sure I would already be criminally speeding. :) Some of these newer bikes like the CBRs hit like 70-75 in first, but hey, its not a racing bike.

With stock gearing, actual top speed (not indicated) in each gear for the 94-97 VFR is follows:
    1st: 58 mph
    2nd: 80 mph
    3rd: 101 mph
    4th: 123 mph
    5th: 142 mph
    6th: 159 mph

This is utilizing the gearing calculator mentioned above, and the gearing ratios given by the Service manual. It also utilizes the overall diameter of a new, stock 170/60/17 rear tire. Any changes to any of these parameters will affect the speeds listed.
