    I am still partial to the 90-270-90-270, 360* crank, and 11-00-11-00 firing order, of the VFR/RVF400, RC30, and RC45, "droner" engine.

    No... no, no, no, no. Everyone has to like the 180 crank. It's half of a Ferrari flat-plane V8. It rumbles at idle, it lopes on off-throttle overrun. And with the camshaft drive gears mounted on the side of the engine (instead of between the cylinders) you get more of that straight-cut gear goodness.
