Got the chance to ride at Monticello on Friday. From what I understand, this was the first time a bike group had run on the track. There has been a big internet buzz concerning safety in certain turns. The Armco was deemed too close with not enough run off. MANY organizations made the choice to pull the Monticello dates due to these issues. For better or worse, Sportbike Track Time decided to be the first to hold a track day.

For me personally, I didn't have a concern with the track prior to or during the day. It was a fun, technical layout with nice elevation changes. Each of you know your threshold for safety concerns so make your own decisions. I don't think there are any other motorcycle days scheduled at Monticello so it could be a mute point. Many org's are awaiting further safety measures before scheduling track days.

Keep checking the boards if you're interested in riding the track. Until then, there are some videos on my site: www.trailbraker.net - on the right.

The track we ran is outlined in orange.
