Wheels are off for tire replacement so I thought it a good time to inspect and replace pads if needed. Also is there some trick to removing the rear caliper? The 3/8 and 1/4 ratchet won't fit and the box end hits the pickup. Hope I don't have to remove the fluid lines.

There seems to be no"minimum" in mm only those wear indicators which I am well above. Got the rear caliper off but don't think it is required for pad change out. The difficulty in doing so may also be telling me "not needed for pad change". Looks like I could just retract the slide pin and pads would come out. Anyway all pads are good and rear pin pin lubricated. Also adjusted and lubricated chain while in the area.

I've got to get a shop manual.

The official Honda service manual for the 6th gen is listed here on the site somewhere in PDF format, all 640 pages or so.

From the service manual, page 16-4:

Front Disc thickness: Standard = 4.5 mm, Wear Limit = 3.5 mm

Rear Disc Thickness: Standard = 6.0 mm, Service Limit = 5.0 mm

I couldn't find anything in either the service manual or the owners manual for the pads other than page 145 of the '07 owners manual that states, "Check the cutouts in each pad. If either pad is worn to the cutout replace both pads as a set."

    Hope this helps. Ride safely,
    Bob S.

My minimum front pad is 3.1mm. Rear is 2.7mm. Front rotors are 4.5. Rear is 7.1mm.

Thanks guys for the feedback. Meatloaf I'll have to look again for the manual.
