I've determined that my tax return will be spent getting my new plastics for the bike... Well, along with plastics I'll need a new paint job, and this is what I've been kickin' around:

(I stole the image of a white VFR from a site and messed with it in paint)

Feel free to give me your opinions, and know that I'm still playin' with a bunch of different ideas for paint. I havent decided if I wanna try and find a rear seat cowl, so I left that white for now; If i end up gettin' one it'll be color matched with some sort of detail on it as well... I also wanna go with a clearish yellow windscreen, so disregard the stock one in the pic. For reference, here's what the original paint scheme we did ended up like:

    I like it Pyro.
A black seat cowl with just a bit of yellow scallop like you've drawn on your fairings would finish that off nicely.
What kind of paint were you thinking here, high gloss or matte finish?
You gonna be blacking out those rims too or leaving them white?

Thanks Stosh, after seein' your paint I'm inclined to think you know your stuff haha... leavin' rims white, gotta clean 'em up though... yeah, if I do end up buyin' the cowl it'll be black as well... Honestly, I'm gonna do what I did before, hit up Autozone for $80 in high gloss rattle can paint and pinstriping tape... I have a "paint scheme 2.0" I'll be uploading later tonight w/ a bit more detail, done with a pencil...

@Crusty: yessir, I thought the last scheme was a tad busy, I prefer a little less craziness... and of course you prefer minimalist, your baby is bone white ;) (p.s. that pic was BEFORE the elbow gear)

    Scheme 2.0

Keep in mind, the grey is all pencil, it's gonna be black... and the yellow will likely be a tad thicker, and have a .5" white edge to it when I'm finished... and the headlight is gonna have a yellow bulb as well... flush mount blinkers in clear, not the amber lens... and the rear seat cowl is still as of yet undecided...

hmm, I don't know, but I bet that the old CBR mirrors from that era are the same mounts. Here's how I usually check when I don't know. Go to servicehonda.com or bikebandit.com and search for the mirrors for your bike and get the part number. then search for the part numbers for a CBR of the same year. sometimes they'll be the same part number. if they are you know they'll fit, if not it still doesn't mean that they will not fit. I wish I could answer more definitively but alas, I cannot.

I'm wondering if there's any other place to get a gen2 tail... if not, I may end up buyin' a GSXR or CBR plastic and fabricating somethin' totally off the wall and different

the pearl white the way that bike came was cool, i would leave it that color it would stand out in a crowd just by being all white with the gold lettering...

I would definately do a lot of carbon fiber accessories. I think it would look nice with the black. Some nice black rims and a black seat cowl would finish it off nice. I had a ninja I did a lot of custom paint to. Turned out nice.

have a good time with it any paint graphics I had to play around with alot on the bike with masking tape and cutting out stencils. Some time it goes right like you plan, other times it's way differnt when you shoot the paint.
