Hi guys, picked up a bumped vfr, usual stuff, headlight, top fairing etc, anyway, there's something dangling at the back of the clocks, it looks like the head of a small led, wrapped in sponge and a tie wrap, looks oem, and the lead is quite long any idea what it is or indeed, where it goes???

Sounds like it might be the ambient air temperature sensor. That is black plastic about the diameter of a pencil. If so it should mount to the inner black shroud below the fairing right side. air temp.png air temp2.png
